Clear Silk Laser

At Kaya Cosmedica all patients receive a consultation to determine suitability for the treatment.
During the treatment the area to be treated will be cleaned. No anesthesia is required, and the treatment is often relaxing. The laser handpiece is moved over the skin to deposit heat deep beneath the skin’s surface, stimulating fibroblast activity and the body’s natural repair process. The average treatment lasts 30 minutes, and there will be some gentle warmth which will continue for up to 60 minutes after.

The ClearSilk Laser is suitable for all skin types, including darker skin tones.  It can be done at anytime of the year with minimal downtime.

Some patients experience minor discomfort and mild redness but overall there is no pain associated with this treatment.

Certain skincare products, particularly those containing retinoids or strong exfoliants, should be avoided for a week prior to your appointment. These products can make your skin more sensitive to the laser treatment. If possible, please come to the clinic with clean skin, free from any makeup, creams or lotions.

One of the benefits of the ClearSilk laser treatment is minimal downtime. Most people can resume their normal activities immediately after the session. Some mild redness and swelling may occur but usually subside within a few hours - day.
However, some special care will help support your skin while it renews itself.

Use gentle, fragrance-free skincare products to clean and moisturise your face. Avoid abrasive scrubs and products containing retinoids, glycolic acids or other active ingredients until your skin has fully recovered. These can irritate sensitised skin.

Sun protection is vital after a laser treatment. Even on cloudy days, UV radiation can interfere with the healing process and lead to pigmentation changes. Make sure to apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 before you step out, and consider wearing a hat for added protection.

It's best to avoid saunas, hot yoga classes, and intense workouts that can cause excessive sweating for a few days post-treatment. Depending on your skin type and the specific concerns addressed, we may recommend additional personalised aftercare tips. 

There is no downtime. You can resume normal activities after. It is advised to avoid direct sun exposure after and to use sunscreen when outdoors.

The appearance of the skin continues to improve with each treatment. On average you may require 4-6 treatments spaced out 2-4 weeks apart for optimal results.
