Hollywood Laser Peel

The Hollywood Laser Peel is a patented, non-invasive skin rejuvenation treatment enabled by Lutronic’s Spectra laser platform. As its name suggests, it may be the secret behind many of Hollywood’s beautiful complexions. But it's not just for the red carpet — this treatment provides a refreshed and radiant complexion. It is effective at improving skin texture and tone, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, enhancing skin brightness and reducing appearance of pores, and pigmentation such as sunspots and freckles.

How does a Hollywood Laser Peel work:
Hollywood Laser peel utilises two different operational modes to do the following;

• Helps improve melanin (pigmentation) by breaking it up in tiny fragments using very short, high peak power so the body can naturally remove it.
• Helps remodel collagen by heating the dermis

What to expect during my Hollywood Laser Peel Treatment?
Hollywood Laser Peel is a three-step procedure consisting of the following steps;
Step 1: A thin layer of specialised carbon-based lotion is applied to the skin and left on for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, the carbon-based lotion gets heated using the laser to help set on skin and bind impurities like dead skin cells and oils. During this process, the treatment will feel warm on skin but not uncomfortable.

Step 2: Once the carbon-based lotion is heated, a different laser mode is used to now evaporate to heated carbon-based lotion together with dead skin cells and impurities. During this process, you will hear loud popping/snapping sounds and some slight tingling/warmth on treated skin.

Step 3: The last step involves going over the face again with a different laser mode to deliver thermal energy in the dermis to help remodel collagen for long-term skin maintenance. This process can feel slightly tingly/warm.

MDF (Multi Depth Focus) Optic

The Spectra Laser MDF (Multi-Depth Focus) treatment is a two stepped process: The first step targets the upper layer of the skin, to induce collagen remodeling and help improve the overall dermal condition. The second step targets the deeper layers of the skin to create cavitation injuries in the skin, helping induce collagen remodeling, improving skin tone, texture, fine lines/wrinkles, enlarged pores and pitted scarring.

What to expect during the MDF treatment?
MDF treatment is a two-step process:

Step 1: Base Rejuvenation: During this process, you will feel some warmth on skin. It almost feels like hot raindrops on your skin. Some areas might feel warmer than others but it is generally a comfortable procedure to have.

Step 2: Depending on what we’re treating, the amount of laser energy delivered and sensation during treatment widely varies including the expected endpoint.

The following three options are as follows in conjunction with the Base Rejuvenation;

1. Skin Rejuvenation: During this process, the use of topical anesthetic is usually not required. The sensation felt is warmth with some tingling but generally tolerable. Skin will have some degree of redness. Recovery can vary between 1-3 days.
2. Enlarged Pores: During this process, the use of topical anesthetic is recommended for added patient comfort. You will still have warmth/tingling sensation during the treatment. Skin will have some degree of redness and petechiae(pinpoint bleeds). Recovery can vary between 3-5 days.
3. Deep lines/Pores, or pitted scarring: During this process, the use of topical anesthetic is routinely advised to aid in patient comfort. You will experience warmth and tingling sensation during the treatment. Skin will be red and presence of petechiae(pinpoint bleed) is expected. Recovery can vary between 5-7 days .

Laser Toning

Spectra Laser Toning is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that uses laser to help improve uneven skin tone, pigmentation, and even melasma by destroying the pigment into tiny fragments with minimal stimulation on the surrounding tissues.

What to expect during Laser Toning treatment?

Warmth and tingling sensation is normally felt during the procedure. The endpoint will vary depending on the type of pigment we are treating and the skin type. This can vary from mild flushing of the skin to a more noticeable redness with potential darkening of pigment. This treatment is generally well tolerated without the use of topical anesthetic. No significant social downtime is expected aside from the potentially mild-moderate redness that can last the rest of the day of the treatment.

Yes, one of the major advantages of Spectra Q-switched Laser is its suitability for a wide range of skin types. It offers customisable settings to ensure safe and effective treatments for individuals with diverse skin tones.

Your treatment starts with a comprehensive consultation with Dr Khinda or a member of her team. During this time, we'll discuss your skin concerns, medical history and any medications you are taking. We want to fully understand your skin goals so we can craft a personalised treatment plan for you.

To help promote the safety and efficacy of your Hollywood Laser Peel, there are a few steps to take in preparation. Protect your skin from sun exposure for at least two weeks before a laser treatment. Sun-damaged or tanned skin can impact the effectiveness of the treatment and potentially increase the risk of complications. Don't forget to use a broad-spectrum sunscreen of at least SPF30.

Certain skincare products, particularly those containing retinoids or strong exfoliants, should be avoided for a week prior to your appointment. These products can make your skin more sensitive to the laser treatment. If possible, please come to the clinic with clean skin, free from any makeup, creams or lotions.

To begin the treatment, your skin is cleaned thoroughly to remove any makeup, bacteria or skin products. You will wear eye protection and rest in a reclined position with your head tilted back and upward.

Once your skin is properly prepared, we apply the Lutronic Spectra handpiece to your skin while it delivers a rapid series of laser energy pulses into your skin. This exfoliates the outermost layer to address surface-level concerns and simultaneously stimulates the deeper dermal layer to trigger collagen and elastin production.

You may hear snapping sounds as the laser works across the surface of your skin, and you may feel warmth or mild tingling sensations. Most patients find that the procedure is tolerable, even without anesthetic.

The treatment process can take as little as 20 minutes. Once your session is complete, we apply a soothing product to help calm your skin and provide you with aftercare instructions.

Immediately after your treatment, you may notice mild redness and/or a lingering warm sensation, both similar to a light sunburn. This is a normal response to the treatment, and it typically subsides within a few hours. You can return immediately to your normal routine.

As your skin begins to shed its surface layer, you may experience a slight flaking or sandpaper-like texture. This is a sign that the laser peel is doing its job and your skin's natural healing processes are at work.

One of the benefits of the Spectra Laser is minimal downtime. Most people can resume their normal activities immediately after the session. Some mild redness and swelling may occur but usually subside within a few hours - day.
However, some special care will help support your skin while it renews itself.

Use gentle, fragrance-free skincare products to clean and moisturise your face. Avoid abrasive scrubs and products containing retinoids, glycolic acids or other active ingredients until your skin has fully recovered. These can irritate sensitised skin.

Sun protection is vital after a laser treatment. Even on cloudy days, UV radiation can interfere with the healing process and lead to pigmentation changes. Make sure to apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 before you step out, and consider wearing a hat for added protection.

It's best to avoid saunas, hot yoga classes, and intense workouts that can cause excessive sweating for a few days post-treatment. Depending on your skin type and the specific concerns addressed, we may recommend additional personalised aftercare tips. Make sure to follow these closely.

Treatments offer a cumulative effect, meaning that multiple treatments can provide a more substantial and longer-lasting outcome. With regular sessions, your skin continues to regenerate and improve, extending the duration of the results. Multiple sessions are recommended spaced 4-6 weeks apart.
